A Trip to the Frost Art Museum
I visited the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum located at FIU's very own Modesto A. Maidique campus! I had the opportunity of attending Cuban artist Agustin Fernandez's exhibition at the Frost Museum in August of 2025, in which I was able to spend time with the Cuban, French, Puerto Rican, and American cultures present across Fernandez's art work. My visit to the Frost Art Museum was a meditative and rewarding experience filled with intercultural connection and appreciation.
"Remembering Partition: Violence, Memory, and Historical Reflection"
I attended the "Remembering Partition: Violence, Memory, and Historical Reflection" lecture conference in January 2026 at FIU's Steven J. Green School of International and Political Affairs. The conference, which was part of FIU's Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Week, was led by Dr. Gyanendra Pandey, who focused the conversation on the genocidal violence that characterized the 1947 Partition of British India into the independent states of India and Pakistan. Dr. Pandey's lecture conference left a lasting impact that contributes to enhanced understanding when approaching one of South Asias's greatest tragedies.
"Navigating Hate, Holding Values: A Campus Leadership Journey"
I attended the "Navigating Hate, Holding Value: A Campus Leadership Journey" lecture conference in January of 2026 at FIU's Steven J. Green School of International and Political Affairs. The conference, which was part of FIU's Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Week, was led by Professor Andrew Pessin, who discussed the implication of when free speech because hate speech within academic spaces, as well as its impact on minorities, such as the Jewish community. Professor Pessin's lecture conference explored how we as students and individuals can navigate such situations while remaining within democratic ideals.
